The film is set two years after Frosty marries Crystal and have a snow family of their own, and also took place long before the events of Tom and Jerry: The Legend of Frosty the Snowman. Animation, and Rankin/Bass Productions, it is the third Tom and Jerry production to be animated overseas by the Japanese studios including TMS Entertainment and its subsidiary Telecom Animation Film, Studio Ghibli and Studio 4 ☌, with sound effects provided by Fizz Sound Creation, Swara Productions, Anime Sound Production and Jet Sound Engine, and additional sound effects by Toho Sound Studio.
